WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE HARDWOOD INSTALLATION?
The visible flooring is only part of the job. Removal, cleanup and subfloor preparation help determine how the new floor performs.
REMOVE WHAT IS NEEDED. CHECK WHAT IS UNDERNEATH.
After the agreed flooring is removed, Accolade can see the subfloor more clearly. It is checked for suitability, moisture concerns, flatness, damage, movement and conditions that must be addressed before installation.
REMOVAL IS CONTROLLED AND PROJECT-SPECIFIC
The scope may include flooring, underlayment, fasteners, adhesive residue or damaged material. Adjacent finishes and pathways are protected as appropriate, and project debris is collected for lawful handling and disposal.

FLAT, SOUND, CLEAN AND APPROPRIATELY DRY
Condition
Look for water damage, weak areas, delamination, rot or sections needing repair.
Flatness
High seams and low areas are measured against the flooring manufacturer’s installation requirements.
Movement
Loose panels, squeaks and fastening concerns are evaluated within the agreed scope.
Moisture
Wood flooring, subfloor and jobsite conditions must be suitable for the selected product and method.

PREPARATION FAQ
