This Cambridge home had two existing hardwood species: 2¼-inch white oak upstairs and 3¼-inch maple downstairs.

Both floors were sanded, sealed, and protected with a consistent satin appearance while allowing the grain and tone of each species to remain distinct. The dark decorative maple border was preserved.
