A floor that fits the space

Installation starts with the home—not a generic package.

John looks at the existing surface, subfloor, room layout, stairs, doorways and adjoining floors before recommending a material or installation approach.

New rooms and additions

Start with a sound plan

Board direction, transitions, height changes and the way rooms connect are considered before installation begins.

Replacing an existing surface

Remove and prepare

Carpet, tile or older flooring may need to be removed so the surface below can be evaluated and prepared for new hardwood.

Connecting to existing hardwood

Create a natural transition

When conditions allow, new boards can be planned around adjoining flooring and later sanded and finished for a coordinated appearance.

Material choices are project-specific. We install both prefinished hardwood and unfinished hardwood that is sanded, stained and finished after installation. Solid or engineered construction depends on the subfloor, grade level, moisture conditions, room use, desired appearance and manufacturer requirements.

What to expect

Four clear installation steps.

The estimate explains the agreed scope, material direction and what must happen before installation day.

01 · PLAN

Measure and Evaluate

We review the rooms, existing surfaces, subfloor, transitions and the finished look you have in mind.

02 · PREPARE

Remove and Ready the Surface

Included flooring removal and necessary preparation are completed before boards are installed.

03 · INSTALL

Lay Out and Secure the Floor

Board direction, cuts, rows, edges and connected areas receive careful attention throughout installation.

04 · COMPLETE

Finish and Walk Through

Site-finished floors are sanded and finished as agreed. We clean up, review the work and explain floor care.

From board layout to a connected result.

These three photographs show how new hardwood moves from careful layout, through connection with an existing room, to the completed floor.

Plan the rows

Boards are staged and arranged with the room, openings and adjoining floor in mind before the installation moves forward.

02 · ConnectNew hardwood flooring woven into an adjoining existing floor

Work into the adjoining floor

Where the floor and project allow, staggered board work helps create a less abrupt transition between existing and newly installed hardwood.

03 · FinishedCompleted connected hardwood floor after installation sanding and finishing

One finished surface

After the agreed sanding and finish work, the new area reads as part of the home instead of a separate flooring patch.

Hardwood stairs and landings

Carpet removal can reveal a new direction.

When the structure and project are suitable, carpeted stairs can be converted to hardwood treads and coordinated with the landing and nearby floors.

Stair projects vary. Tread construction, risers, nosing, railings, landings and the condition below the carpet all affect what can be installed and how the work should be completed.

What customers need to know

Straight answers before installation.

Your estimate will confirm the material, preparation, installation method, connected work, schedule and finish details for your property.

Do you install solid and engineered hardwood?

Yes. We evaluate the room, subfloor, grade level, moisture considerations and desired appearance before recommending an appropriate solid or engineered hardwood product and installation method.

Can you remove carpet, tile or old flooring first?

Removal can be included when it is part of the agreed flooring scope. The estimate explains what will be removed, what preparation is expected afterward and whether job-related flooring debris disposal is included.

What if the subfloor needs work?

The surface below the finished floor affects the installation. Loose areas, damage, excessive unevenness, moisture concerns or other conditions may require additional preparation before hardwood can be installed. Any change to the agreed scope should be discussed clearly.

Can new hardwood connect with an existing floor?

Often, yes, when the flooring dimensions, species, condition and layout allow. New boards may be planned into an adjoining area and site-finished together, but age and natural variation mean an exact invisible match cannot be guaranteed.

Will the new floor be sanded, stained and finished?

Site-finished hardwood is installed, sanded and then completed with the approved natural or stained direction and protective finish. Prefinished products arrive with a factory-applied surface. Your estimate identifies which system is being used.

How long does hardwood installation take?

Timing depends on square footage, removal, subfloor preparation, material requirements, stairs, layout complexity and whether sanding and finishing are included. We explain the expected working days and access timeline before scheduling.

Do materials need time in the home before installation?

Some hardwood products require acclimation or specific site conditions before installation. Requirements vary by product, manufacturer and the conditions in the home, so we confirm the plan for the selected flooring rather than using one rule for every material.

What happens with cleanup and disposal?

We keep the work area orderly and remove the job-related flooring debris included in the estimate. Disposal and cleanup responsibilities are explained before work begins so you know what is covered.
