Can the refinished floor work with our original Craftsman-style trim?
We look at the floor and retained trim together, comparing wood tone, grain, and the room’s light. The materials do not need to be identical to sit comfortably together. We use samples where appropriate and discuss sheen as well as color, while protecting the woodwork during preparation and coating.
The floor meets several built-in cupboards. Will new boards change the clearances?
We’ll measure the existing surface, cupboard doors, and the proposed flooring thickness before recommending installation. Added layers can affect doors and the appearance of cabinet bases. Where removal or subfloor work is needed, we explain it beforehand so the finished height is planned around the built-ins you want to retain.
Can the stair landing match the adjoining room without refinishing all the stairs?
We’ll look at the landing material, wear, and connection to the room and stair treads. A limited scope may be possible, but the refreshed surface can differ from the stairs that remain. We’ll talk through the visual boundary and access during drying before deciding whether separate treatment will give an acceptable result.
We saw your Sherborn deck project. Would an indoor floor use the same finish?
No. The Sherborn project involved exterior mahogany, which faces different exposure from interior flooring. We evaluate indoor boards and select a system intended for their use and condition. If your project includes both a porch and indoor rooms, preparation, products, and return-to-use expectations are planned separately for each area.
