Our front room has a patterned border and the next room is a different wood. Can both stay?
We’ll identify the materials and assess the border before deciding on sanding or repair. Our Cambridge white oak and maple project retained both species and a decorative border. A coordinated finish can work well without making the woods identical; the remaining thickness and condition of your particular floor determine what is practical.
Do you handle condominium flooring projects in Cambridge?
Yes, depending on the building requirements and project scope. We’ll review access, working hours, flooring specifications, and any association requirements before scheduling.
A previous renovation cut through the border. Can the missing part be rebuilt?
We’ll measure the pattern, compare the surviving pieces, and look at the depth and direction of the surrounding flooring. A repair may require several widths or species rather than one replacement board. We’ll explain sourcing and the likely differences before work starts. a recreated section may still be distinguishable from the original.
Our cottage has a small front entry. What do you need to check before bringing equipment in?
Photos of the entry, stair turns, door openings, and route to the room help us plan an initial visit. We then confirm clearances, protection, and where equipment can be handled. A compact layout affects the working sequence, so access arrangements are settled before the sanding and finish schedule is agreed.
