What homeowners are saying
“I'd highly recommend John to install or refinish hardwood floors. He installed new flooring in several bedrooms and refinished the hallway to match and I am very happy with the finished product and he was great to work with throughout the process.”

Our older entry is badly worn but the front rooms are not. Can you assess them separately?
We’ll check wear depth and remaining material in each area, then consider where the work could stop. The entry may need repairs and sanding while the front rooms require a different scope. We’ll explain the potential color and sheen difference across the doorway before recommending whether to treat them separately or together.
The stair landing has an old patch. Can it be repaired while preserving the surrounding floor?
We’ll compare the patch and adjacent boards and look at the stair connection before removing anything. A focused replacement may be possible, but matching dimensions and planning access are important. We’ll explain how the repaired landing will be finished and when it can be crossed during the coating process.
Can carpet come out of a room beside the original hall without disturbing the hall floor?
We’ll check the doorway and the layers under the carpet before planning removal. If the hall is sound, it may be kept with a suitable transition or a carefully planned connection. We’ll talk through the new room’s height, material, and finish so the work does not rely on matching an unidentified existing floor.
There are several different thresholds along the hall. Should a renovation make them all flush?
We’ll measure each connection and establish why the levels differ before recommending changes. Some thresholds cover different construction or earlier alterations. Removing them may require more than flooring work, so we explain which connections can reasonably be improved and where keeping a planned transition is the more practical choice.
