Hardwood stairs · Framingham & beyond
Give your stairs a fresh start.
Worn treads, a color you’ve outgrown, or carpet you’re ready to replace? We’ll help you bring your stairs and the floors around them together.

Refinish. Repair. Rethink.
How we can help
You don’t need to know exactly what your stairs need. Show us what you have, and tell us what you’d like to change.
Refresh your wood stairs
Keep the character of your existing wood while giving the surface a fresh start. We’ll assess the treads, discuss color and finish, and explain what refinishing can achieve.
Replace carpet with hardwood
Ready to uncover what’s beneath the carpet? We’ll review the stair construction and plan suitable hardwood treads, landings and connections to the surrounding floors.
Repair or replace worn treads
Damaged edges or treads that need attention? We’ll look at the affected areas and explain whether a repair or replacement makes sense.
Look after what’s underneath
A creaky step, a soft landing, or damage beneath the carpet? We’ll check the treads, connections and accessible subfloor, then explain what needs attention before covering it up. Any additional work is agreed with you first.

It’s all in the details
Make the stairs feel part of your home.
Your stairs don’t have to feel separate from the rooms around them. We consider the wood, color, sheen and landings together, and compare samples in your home. Different wood species and existing finishes can affect the match.
Planning the floors too? We can discuss refinishing your existing hardwood or installing new flooring alongside the stair work.

A few things you might be wondering
Can you replace carpet on stairs with hardwood?
Yes. We assess what’s beneath the carpet and the stair construction, then recommend suitable treads and a plan for the landings and adjoining floors.
Can you refinish my existing stair treads?
Often, yes. We check the wood, remaining thickness, coatings and damage before recommending refinishing or replacement.
Can the stairs match my hardwood floors?
We can work toward a coordinated look and compare color samples in your home. Wood species, age and existing finishes can affect the result, so an exact match isn’t always possible.
Will we be able to use the stairs during the project?
Access depends on the work and the products selected. Tell us if this is your only staircase so we can discuss a workable plan before scheduling. We’ll explain when the finished treads can be used again.
What affects the cost of stair work?
The number and condition of the treads, carpet removal, repairs, new materials, landings, finish and access all affect the work. We’ll provide a written estimate for the agreed scope.
Do you work in my town?
We’re based in Framingham and serve communities within a 60-mile radius. If your town isn’t listed, send it along with a few details about your stairs.
Can you help with squeaky stairs or damaged subfloor?
Yes—we can assess creaking steps, loose connections and damaged subfloor at landings. The right repair depends on the cause and what we can access. We’ll explain the options and any further assessment needed before adding work to your estimate.
