Choosing a finish you can live with

Changing the color of an existing floor starts with checking whether it can be sanded again. We look at its condition, previous repairs and remaining wear surface before recommending refinishing. If you’re considering a stain, samples on your own floor help you compare the color in the room’s light.

For our recent Chestnut Hill project, the customer chose Bona Medium Brown stain with Berger-Seidle AquaSeal GreenStar in satin. We can walk you through a similar decision, or discuss keeping a lighter, natural appearance.

Common questions

How do I get a flooring estimate in Chestnut Hill?

Send us photos, the rooms involved and your approximate square footage. Tell us whether you want to keep the natural color or compare stain samples, and which rooms need to remain accessible. We inspect the floors and provide a written quote covering the agreed work, materials and price; repairs, preparation and finish choices affect the total.

Can I see stain samples before deciding?

Yes. We can prepare samples on your floor so you can compare them in your own lighting. The same stain can look different on different species and existing floors.

Can you work around occupied rooms?

We’ll review access, furniture and the rooms involved before scheduling. Sanding and finish drying can temporarily close routes through the property; we explain that before work begins.

Do all rooms need to be refinished together?

Not always. Doorways may provide practical stopping points. We’ll explain how color and sheen could differ from rooms that are left untouched.
