We are extending an older house. Can the new hardwood join the original rooms?
We’ll compare board widths, thickness, species, and floor heights before planning the connection. If the original wood can be refinished, treating the connected rooms together may help the color look more consistent. Different wood or construction may need a transition.
Can you repair the gap left when a kitchen wall is removed?
Once the area is exposed, we assess the missing flooring and the subfloor below it. The board direction and layout determine whether a woven-in repair, a strip of replacement flooring, or a wider installation makes sense.
The wood near our back door is dark and worn. Does the whole room need replacing?
Not necessarily. We’ll check whether the problem is surface wear, a deep stain, or ongoing moisture. After the cause is resolved, selected boards may be replaced while the surrounding floor stays. Refinishing the room may help blend the repair.
Can we keep the original floors if they have already been refinished several times?
We’ll check the remaining wood, worn edges, old patches, and fasteners before recommending another sanding. Some floors can be restored again; thin or badly damaged boards may need a limited repair or replacement instead.
