Can the worn path through our older dining room be restored without replacing the floor?
We’ll check how deeply your floors are worn and how much material remains. If it can take another sanding, refinishing may improve the whole surface. Boards that are too thin or damaged may need a repair to that area first.
There are several old patches in the floor. Can you make them less noticeable?
We’ll identify whether the patches differ in species, size, direction, or just finish. Sanding and staining may help some differences; mismatched boards may need replacement. We’ll talk through the likely result before choosing the approach.
Should we fill the gaps that open between boards in winter?
We’ll first check whether the gaps change with indoor conditions or remain all year. Filling a seasonal gap can leave loose or cracked filler as the boards move. Stable conditions and appropriate repairs matter more than filling every opening.
Can the stair landing and adjoining rooms be refinished together?
We’ll look at the wood, wear, and transitions in each area. Planning them together can improve consistency, but stair access and drying times need particular care. We’ll explain the sequence before the work begins.
